Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Sports Council launches coach education program in 12 different sports

ABU DHABI, 29th August, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has announced the launch of a coaching program for 12 different sports with the aim of increasing technical staff in the emirate of Abu Dhabi .

The program – in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Maternity and Childhood Authority, National Anti-Doping Committee and National Ambulance, as well as sports federations – is expected to provide licensing and certificates to 400 coaches.

The program includes football, volleyball, basketball, handball, water sports, cycling, athletics, fencing, weightlifting, racket games, archery and judo. It consists of four stages, the basic courses which include child safety, first aid, anti-doping and optional courses such as kinesiology, physical preparation and nutrition.

The second stage includes specialized courses approved by the relevant authorities.

The third is a refresher course to enrich knowledge and continuity of learning, and the fourth and final stage is practical experience in European clubs.

Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of Sports Development Sector of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: “We are delighted to launch the Coach program in cooperation with our valued partners. Our goal is to develop the training system and provide professional experiences that contribute to the preparation of specialized technical executives with certificates and licenses.”
