International Sport & Leisure A/S has opened its first Ugandan flagship store in Kampala on the first floor of Acacia Mall.
Hummel is introduced in Uganda by WAMA International Group which has over 30 stores in different regions with a huge expansion plan in East Africa with Hummel and other international brands already on the move as well.
Hummel is present in Rwanda and now in Uganda with this store and the Hummel Arena mall will also follow, to be followed by Kenya 2023.
As one of the oldest sportswear brands in the world, Hummel is an internationally renowned manufacturer of sportswear for football, rugby, futsal, handball, basketball, shinty , volleyball and esports.
The company also manufactures luxury loungewear and children’s footwear under its Hummel HIVE fashion sub-brand.
The Hummel brand story is built behind the character that saturates the way all Hummel products are made, each product expresses its own story and character and the same goes for each team and individual player sponsored by the brand.
Today, Hummel sponsors clubs and players in handball and football fraternities, including some of the biggest football clubs in the world.
In Uganda, the store plans to work with several local sports clubs.
Hummel has grown over the years, influencing sports fashion trends by producing unique quality garments which have evolved into the unique Sport Fashion collection with a unique urban look and sporty fit, as featured at the store launch. .
The store was inaugurated to the public by WAMA International Group on Saturday, October 1 with the Libyan Ambassador, HE Ibrahim Sultan as the chief guest.
A number of celebrities also attended the store opening, including Aly Allibhai and his wife Sylvia Namutebi, Navio and Matilda, Kent and Flosso, Madrat & Chico.
Hummel’s launch included a guided shopping experience, 360° photo booth, live DJ mixes and raffles that allowed winners to walk away with shopping vouchers.
The Hummel store at Acacia Mall is of great socio-economic importance to the nation through employment, training and skills for local communities.
Housed in a 200 sqm sales area, the state-of-the-art store offers a high-end personalized shopping experience with an assortment of activewear and leisurewear in various sizes, colors and designs.
Hummel’s country manager also confirms that the brand intends to open more stores across the country, followed by another franchise store in Arena
