This fund aims to improve facilities in disadvantaged communities by providing grants to community groups. Grants can be used to help cover operating costs, including utility or insurance bills, as well as facility upgrades.
Funding is provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development and is administered by LCDC Longford.
Longford LCDC Cllr Chairman Colm Murray said: “Longford LCDC supports locally led grassroots projects in communities across the county. This funding aims to give a helping hand to local groups and clubs that have continued to serve their community during Covid-19.
“The grants will make a big difference in enabling community groups to carry out work in their areas.
“I want to recognize and thank these community groups for the vital work they do to provide services in their local communities.”
