The Daily Tribune –

Al Najma Bahrainis stormed into the semi-finals of the 24th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship yesterday as the winners of Group B, after their final match in the preliminary round of the competition, which is currently taking place in Hyderabad, India. Najma was held to 24 draws by Qatar’s Al Wakrah to claim a share of the points on their division table. It was their first draw after opening the tournament with straight wins.

The other semi-final will be an all-Kuwaiti game between Al Kuwait, second in Group B, and Al Qadsia, winners of Group A. Kuwait secured their place in the next round after a 30-17 victory against Iranian Mes Kerman in the other division game yesterday. They advanced behind Najma, while Wakrah and Mes Kerman were knocked out of title contention. Najma and Wakrah were deadlocked yesterday at 9-9 before halftime.

The Bahrainis have been led in the competition by players like Ali Eid, Mohammed Habib Naser, Mohammed Mirza, Mahdi Saad, Hasan Al Fardan, Ahmed Fadhul, and the French trio of Alix Kevynn Nyokas, Oliver Nyokas and Bakary Diallo, and the goalkeeper Mohammed Abdulhussain. .
